About CenTest

CenTest is a test-generation application that helps teams create structured manual test cases and acceptance-test assets from approved delivery requirements.

The application supports requirements intake from both Jira and Azure DevOps, and it also supports document-based generation for uploaded requirement files when issue-tracker records are not being used.

Supported inputs and outputs

  • Jira Epic, Story, and Enabler Story based generation
  • Azure DevOps work item based generation for configured ADO projects
  • Document upload mode for supported requirement file types
  • Generation of manual test scenarios, feature files, and qTest-ready output
  • Optional AssertThat upload for supported Jira-based configurations

Jira validation criteria

For Jira-based runs, the application validates the entered issue before generation. The issue must be a qualifying type and must meet the configured delivery-status requirements.

  • Allowed issue types: Story, Epic, or Enabler Story
  • Allowed statuses: Groomed, Development, Test in Dev, or Test in QA
  • Required label: genai
  • For project configurations that require sprint validation, the story or an eligible child story must be associated with the entered sprint

Azure DevOps usage

For configured Azure DevOps projects, the application accepts numeric work item IDs and processes them through the same core generation flow. AssertThat upload is not available for ADO-only runs unless a Jira numeric project identifier is available for the integration.

Operational notes

  • Available projects are controlled by user access assignment
  • Routing into qTest folders is driven by project configuration
  • Training and Project folder behavior may vary by project configuration
  • Requirement linking is mandatory for Project-folder runs where configured

CenTest is intended to provide a standardized, auditable, and configurable workflow for test-generation across supported projects.
